- Story Text: Israeli border police fired tear gas at stone-throwing Palestinian demonstrators in the East Jerusalem neighbourhood of Anata on Tuesday (October 18) The youths were demonstrating a day after the initialling of a peace agreement between Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin and Jordan's King Hussein in Amman.
In the occupied West Bank town of Hebron, residents demonstrated overnight Monday (October 17) after a funeral for a Palestinian resident shot dead by the army.
On Sunday night (October 16), 24-year-old Aimead Yusef Aderbe was digging up antiquities in the Hebron area when several Israeli soldiers approached the area and ordered him to stop.
When Aderbe carried on, he was shot dead.
Around 200 relatives and friends attended his funeral and a demonstration against the army action and the occupation generally broke out afterwards.
