- Story Text: INTRO: Following the handover of the West Bank town of Hebron to the Palestine Liberation Organisation (PLO) on Friday, other middle-east leaders have called on Israel to resume peace talks with Lebanon and Syria.
-------------------------------------------------------------------- In Beirut on Tuesday (January 21) Lebanese Prime Minister Rafik Hariri urged Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to withdraw his troops from the occupied parts of south Lebanon and resume the stalled peace talks with Lebanon and Syria.
In an interview with Reuters Television, Hariri said that Israel, by demanding to disarm Hizbollah before its withdrawal from south Lebanon, is asking for 'the impossible'.
Hariri said that Lebanon "cannot stop Hizbollah, and the solution is for Israel to withdraw from south Lebanon".
