- Story Text: Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin's cabinet met on Sunday (March 5) to discuss security matters and the ongoing closure barring Palestinians from entering Israel.
Following the session, Economics Minister Shimon Shitreet told press that Arafat was not doing his best to stop terrorism in the autonomous areas and added that Israel should not negotiate with him until Arafat makes a stronger effort.
The Palestine Liberation Organisation (PLO) also held a meeting on Sunday. Ahmed Korei, in charge of the economy in Arafat's Palestinian Authority announced that Israeli Foreign Minister Shimon Peres will meet with PLO Chairman Yasser Arafat in the Gaza Strip on Thursday.
He said they will discuss the usual things -- expansion of Palestinian authority in the West Bank and redeployment.
Meanwhile, the Israeli army began unsealing homes in the occupied West Bank town of Nablus.
As part of a goodwill gesture to mark the Moslem holiday Eid al Fitr, Israel gave orders to allow unsealing of some 20 streets and 40 homes that had been sealed for security reasons.
Palestinian municipality workers bulldozed concrete blockade entrances to streets and hammered at concrete walls sealing off homes.
For years, Israel has sealed homes of relatives of Palestinian activists accused of anti-Israeli activities. Streets are generally sealed if the street is deemed "threatening" to patrolling Israeli soldiers, Jewish settlers or Jewish civilians.
