- Story Text: INTRO: Israel Forces Radio has said tension remains high in Hebron as Finance Minister Dan Meridor toured the city. Gunshots have been heard near the Cave of the Patriarch.
-------------------------------------------------------------------- Israeli Finance Minister Dan Meridor toured the divided town of Hebron without incident but later Hebron Mayor Mustafa al-Natshah toured the area around the Jewish sector and was forced to remain in his car after settlers appeared on the scene and started to abuse him.
Meridor met settlers and Israeli commanders, but was not prepared to make any binding commitments, the radio said.
Mustafa Natshe urged the Israeli Government to implement the agreement to withdraw from Hebron without delay.
"Day by day this tension might lead to troubles," he said.
At the same time, a group of Palestinian and Israeli women marched through the streets of Hebron, to show solidarity with the Palestinian citizens in the city.
The women held signs against the Israeli occupation in the west bank city of Hebron.
