- Story Text: Clashes have erupted between the Israeli troops and
Palestinians In the vicinity of the An-Najah university in the
west Bank city of Nablus.
Israeli armed vehicles opened fire at dozens of
Palestinians defying a curfew in the West Bank city of Nablus
on Sunday (December 15, 2002).
Palestinian youths in the vicinity of the An-Najah
university and in the market threw stones at the Israeli
troops as tyres they had set alight burned.
Israel reoccupied much of the West Bank after bombings in
June in an effort to quell more than two years of violence. At
least 1,719 Palestinians and 670 Israelis have been killed
since the revolt began.
