- Story Text: The Israeli authorities in occupied Gaza have mounted a re-settlement operation for Arab refugees living in camps, moving them to recently prepared accommodation at El Arish in Northern Sinai, Gaza town and Khan Yunis in the south of the Gaza strip. And at the same time Israel has mounted a new campaign against guerrillas using the security of the Gaza camps.
This film shows some of the military and re-settlement activity at Jebelyia camp, which houses 35,000 refugees. 201 families were moved out of this camp last week.
The occupants of the camps have expressed opposition to the re-settlement by token strikes and small demonstrations, although according to Israeli officials they are satisfied with the new homes and work opportunities to which they are being moved.
In the Israeli moves against the against the guerrillas, leaflets distributed in the camps have urged them to follow the example of their brothers in Jordan, nearly a 100 of whom have fled over into Israel in the past fortnight following clashes with the Jordanian army.
