  • Story Text: Members of the opposition had brought an urgent question to the Knesset, urgung the cabinet to cancel the visit of French FM, who is due to arrive in Israel Wednesday night. Because of France's vote at the UN and the meeting of the French FM with terrorist leader Arafat Israelis are pretty unenthusiastic about the visit at the present stage. FM Allon defended the visit saying that whilst he could very well understand the feelings of the opposition members, Israel will talk to all maintaining diplomatic relations with her, even if their views are absolutely opposite her own. But the Israel Govt. would make it clear beyond any shade of doubt what her position on France's attitude is. The motion was referred to the For. Affairs & Security Committee
