Timerman met with his counterpart ahead of Argentina's President Cristina Fernandez's visit scheduled for Thursday. She will meet with Indonesia's President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono and will sign agreements to expand cooperation between the two countries.
"In the meeting we have discussed several issues, like how to balance the trade scheme between the two countries and what can we expect from compensation trends by increasing investment in both countries,"Natalegawa said after the meeting.
Indonesia statistic agency said trade between the two countries reached a record high of US$2 billion in 2011, a jump from $632 million in 2007. During the first 10 months of 2012, bilateral trade reached $1.64 billion, heavily in favour of Argentina due to soy meal.
