- Story Text: Supporters of Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez wept, shouted and pounded drums as they mourned his death on Tuesday (March 5) in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Large crowds gathered outside the Venezuelan Embassy in Buenos Aires to express their grief - joining visibly distressed Embassy officials.
"Chavez set a flame in Venezuela that spread across the whole of Latin America and which it will be difficult to extinguish because today he lives in all of us who believe in justice, equality and solidarity," said Venezuelan Ambassador, Carlos Martinez.
Pro-Chavez groups waved flags as they insisted the Chavez spirit would live on.
"We are wounded and also happy to know we are together. They did a global change, an example to follow, (he was) a maestro. As for me it really hurts, but it also gives me strength, nothing has died, he will be here circulating amongst us," said Argentine, Ignacio Bertorelli, a Chavez supporter.
