- Story Text: Ten thousand policemen seized control of Cordoba, Argentina's second largest city, on Wednesday (February 27). They staged their revolt after the left-wing provincial Governor, Ricardo Obregon Cano, attempted to sack the Police Chief, Lieutenant-Colonel Antonio Domingo Navarro. That night the police stormed Government House and seized Governor Obregon and eighty other provincial officials.
Left-wing trade union leaders called for a mass protest demonstration against the police action and on Thursday the first shots were fired at the Police. On Friday, two policemen and a woman were killed in an ambush in the student district and late in the day bitter fighting was reported following the appointment of a new governor in the place of Obregon Cano.
