With angry fans and the World press are laying seige to brazil's training camp at the resort of Mr Del Plata. For Brazil, who came as favourites to Argentina for the World Cup for the fourth time have slumped disastrously. Two uninspired draws and now on the verge of being knocked out of the competition. So it was that the President of Brazil's governing sports body came to confront the man being blamed for Brazil's flop, the team manager Claudio Coutinho. Like Scotland's Ally McLeod he's under pressure to resign??? But Coutinho refuses to go, saying it would be an act of cowardice. However unlike McLeod he's now been stripped of much of his powers by the Brazilian Sports Confederation. In future his team selection must be submitted for approval and already he's given in to an ultimatum to drop four key players. These include Adinio Seracio, and Zico and Renaildo, two of Brazil's most dangerous forwards who've simply made no impact at all. Coutinho's excuse is that South America's football has fallen behind Europe. So training now is aimed at matching the speed and power of European sides. Brazil's moment of truth is on Sunday when they face Austria who've already qualified from Group Three. And defeat in that match will be a disaster for the soccer-mad Brazilians. World-Cup crisis it seems is not fortunately confined to Scotland. This is Christopher Morris in Argentina."
