- Story Text: Thousands of revellers gathered for the Nature One festival on Saturday (July 31) in the German city of Kastellaun, near Koblenz.
In their hearts and minds there was just one common thought - the 21 people killed and 500 injured in the Love Parade techno party in Duisburg the previous weekend.
White balloons were released into the air in memory of those who died, many of whom would probably have been planning to be at the Nature One Festival.
One party-goer said: "We will party and still be with them in our hearts."
Festival organiser Nikolaus Schaer blamed bad organisation for the tragedy in Duisburg.
"It is madness to send hundreds of thousands of people through such a narrow tunnel. I can't understand what sort of idiots decided this," he said.
For electronic music fans, Nature One is considered one of the top festivals. According to organisers some 60,000 party-goers are expected this weekend for the techno event, staged on a former U.S. military base. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
