- Story Text: Hundreds of mourners are expected to arrive at the funeral of murdered white supremacist leader Eugene Terre'blanche who will be buried in Ventersdorp on Friday (April 9).
Terre'blanche, who led the African Resistance Movement (AWB) that pushed to preserve apartheid in the 1990s, was hacked and battered to death last Saturday (April 3) by two black farm workers in a suspected dispute over pay.
Opponents of South Africa's ruling party, African National Congress accuse its youth leader Julius Malema of stoking racial hatred in part by singing of an apartheid-era song with the words "Shoot the Boer" -- now banned by the courts as hate speech.
Police are on high alert for any possible violent flare ups that may occur.
During the court appearance of the two accused farm workers police intervened to keep black people and white right wingers apart.
Local media have reported that black journalists would not be allowed at the funeral. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
