Hollywood socialite Paris Hilton was arrested in the South African city of Port Elizabeth on Friday (July 2) after attending a World Cup match.
Hilton, the socialite turned reality TV star, was due to appear in a special court. No details of the alleged offence have been released.
Police officials could not confirm the report and said no details would be released until after the court appearance.
