- Story Text: Orange-clad spectators far outnumbered those dressed in light blue on Tuesday (July 06) as thousands of fans descended on Cape Town's Green Point stadium for the first semi-final in the 2010 World Cup.
The Netherlands will take on surprise semi-finalists, Uruguay for a place in Sunday's (July 11) final.
Dutch supporter Ruud Kuiper is convinced that his team will win.
"I think 2-0 for The Netherlands. I think Robben will score for The Netherlands and I think that Sneijder will score again - that will be the first goal," said Kuiper.
"Uruguay is a dangerous team, they play a rigid kind of soccer, a little bit like Paraguay, well structured, that's difficult to play against, but I think we have a good chance of winning," said Holland supporter, Raymond Oude Wolbers.
Among many shock results in the first World Cup to be held in Africa, Uruguay is the surprise success story.
They have twice won the trophy, in 1930 and 1950, but haven't reached their earlier form for decades.
Despite the odds, Uruguayan fans are strongly behind their team, convinced of a win.
"For me Uruguay will win, for sure. How they win, what the score is, doesn't matter - 1-0, 2-1, 5-0, Uruguay wins for sure," said Uruguay supporter, Juan Pablo.
The Dutch have enjoyed a great deal of support in South Africa's Mother City. And many South Africans, disappointed by Ghana's loss to Uruguay have joined the numbers supporting their former colonizer. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
