- Story Text: Soccer fans of England and Algeria headed for the Cape Town Stadium on Friday (June 18) with both sides needing a victory after they failed to win their opening World Cup Group C matches.
England's opening match was a 1-1 draw with the United States, while Algeria went down 1-0 to Slovenia.
England and Algeria have never met before, but England fans relaxing before the game were convinced that their team would win comfortably and progress further in the competition.
"Big game today. 5-0, England is my prediction," said fan Mike Routledge.
"I am so much looking forward, I've waited all my life to come to a world cup game and this it. I am really looking forward to it. The icing on the cake is if England wins tonight. I can't see them not winning, they will win tonight," said another fan Dale Dodwell.
Fan Allen Lawrence was even more optimistic.
"I think England will win two or three nil tonight and I think we will get through to the semi-final but what happens after that is anybody's guess," he said. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
