- Story Text: The England squad reported for training on Thursday (June 24) after their first 2010 World Cup win - propelling them into the round of 16 and sending Slovenia out of the tournament.
Manager Fabio Capello held a meeting for almost the whole squad on the training ground at the Bafokeng Sports Campus.
Then the squad split into two with those who started the previous evening's match at Port Elizabeth leaving the field for a recovery programme.
The remaining players stayed on for a session beginning with agility work.
England next face old rivals Germany in a highly-charged match on Sunday (June 27) in Bloemfontein. The United States also won to top Group C and face Ghana at Rustenburg.
Striker Wayne Rooney who left the field halfway through the Slovenia game with an ankle injury attended training. Signs were that the forward would be fit for the Germany game.
Midfielders Michael Carrick and Aaron Lennon missed the sessions with ankle problems sustained in the Slovenia game. Defender Ledley King trained on his own to ease a recurrent knee injury.
