- Story Text: South African president Thabo Mbeki met with his Egyptian counterpart Hosni Mubarak on Tuesday (July 29) for bi-lateral talks in Pretoria aimed at strengthening economic and trade ties between the two African countries.
Mubarak was officially welcomed by Mbeki at Pretoria's Union Buildings.
Mubarak, who is on his first state visit to South Africa, arrived in the country on Monday (July 28) as part of a three-day African tour during which he is also expected to visit Uganda.
South Africa sees Egypt as an active partner in promoting the African agenda, which strives to prevent conflict and create greater integration on the continent. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
