- Story Text: South Korea and Argentina fans are both confident ahead of their World Cup clash.
South Korean and Argentinean fans arrive at the Soccer City stadium in Johannesburg ahead of their World Cup match on Thursday (June 17).
A sudden drop in temperature caught the fans by surprise but could not cool off their buoyant spirits ahead of the match.
With Barcelona's Lionel Messi taking to the pitch for Argentina against South Korea's Manchester United midfielder Park Ji-Sung, the match promises be an exciting one for the fans.
"I hope the best for this match, I think that Argentina are better than South Korea and today we can ensure a passage to the next stage," said Argentina fan Roberto outside the stadium, where Diego Maradona's Argentina side hope to build on their 1-0 victory over Nigeria in their opening game.
"The most known player is midfielder Park who plays for Manchester United. He needs to be isolated from the rest of the team," he added.
However South Korea fan Jason backed his team.
"Maybe 1-0 if we are lucky. The key point is if we can defend Messi then we can actually beat Argentina, so I'm actually hoping for a good game," he said.
The two countries will cross paths for the second time in the World Cup's history having previously met in 1986, when a Maradona-inspired Argentina team won 3-1 en route to lifting the trophy.
The South Koreans, coached by Coach Huh Jung-moo who was assigned to block Maradona in that game, will be no walkover against the Argentines however, after a clinical 2-0 opening win over Greece. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
