- Story Text: Thousands of fans take to the streets of Cape Town for the World Cup draw.
Thousands of fans who watched the World Cup draw live on the streets of Cape Town on Friday (December 4) said they were happy with the draw's outcome.
At the main party venue on the city's trendy Long Street, local and foreign fans, many with flags of their favourite teams painted on their faces, thronged the bars and restaurants.
A huge television screen was set up to show the draw, presented by South African actress Charlize Theron. who excited the crowds.
The ceremony was watched on television by 250 million people in 200 countries.
"England has got an easy draw" said one party reveller.
"I think it was a favourable draw particularly to South Africa, though of course it's gonna be a tough one especially with France, but the good thing is that part of the teams that have been drawn in the same group with South Africa...by Uruguay, are teams that South Africa has played before and I am sure they are not a closed book to South Africa, and I sure they should be able to do well by progressing to the next round" added a radio disc jockey, BK Mathewe.
South Africa coach Carlos Alberto Parreira described Bafana Bafana 's group as the most difficult group at the tournament.
