- Story Text: England and United States fans lowered the tension of their teams' World Cup match on Saturday (June 12) by relaxing together near the stadium just hours before the match.
Fans sat in the sunshine together relaxing and drinking, under the watchful eye of local security and British police, as they waited for the kick-off at the stadium at 1800gmt.
Around 30,000 Americans are expected to be at the tournament and FIFA officials confirmed on Friday that the organisers had sold more tickets for the game to American fans than English supporters.
The U.S. famously beat England 1-0 in their only previous finals meeting in Belo Horizonte, Brazil, in 1950. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
