- Story Text: South African soccer supporters are certain that Bafana Bafana will beat France in Mangaung, Free State on Tuesday (June 22).
"I think they are going to it. Because we are hosting, so I think they are going to do it," said Nomvulelo Fuku.
"They've got us, they've got nothing to lose, they're going to do better," said 13-year old fan, Ipeleng Mosempng.
The South Africans will be hoping to profit from the diassay in the French camp. The French team was thrown into chaos when striker Anelka was expelled by coach Rayomond Domenech eventually prompting President Sarkozy to ask his sports minister, Roselyne Bachelot to step in.
French coach Raymond Domenech even said that some members of the French team might not want to play on Tuesday (June 22). One Bafana fan, Anna Booysen, thinks this division in the French team will help her side to victory whether all the French team play or not.
"If they don't pitch (if the French team don't all play), it's a rumour of saying we could have beat them with so many goals, but if they pitch (come onto the pitch), it's still a blessing for us, because maybe they are not together today, so we can make it," said Booysen.
For the South Africans to advance to the Round of 16, one of several scenarios needs to happen. They all include a win for either Uruguay or Mexico and a win for Bafana Bafana with a sizable goal difference. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
