Emphatic result, gain some confidence, have a good time. Good performance from everyone, sort out the goalkeeping question, sort out everything." (SOUNDBITE) (English) YIANNOS YIANNAKIS (LEFT) AND DAVE BARRETT (BLUE SHIRT) TOGETHER SAY: "I am here for three weeks. And I am here for two and a half weeks so I am going to miss the final here unfortunately but it's a good amount of time to come away and appreciate the flavour of South Africa, watch a little bit of football. But we are not just going to watch the England games, hopefully catch a few other games in the bars, have a few drinks. We live in New Zealand too so we have a vested interest in seeing how the All Whites do, so we are looking forward to seeing how they play but yeah, just soak it up and make the most of it really. Yeah, it only comes around every four years and we are probably not going to get to Brazil so we are going to enjoy this because it may not come around again for us." - Story Text: England and U.S. fans are arriving in South Africa for their opening match of the World Cup tournament.
Four England fans were in the resort town of Sun City on Wednesday (June 9) having flown into Johannesburg on Tuesday and driven up during the night.
Nigel Spells of Cowfold, southern England, and Ross Munro from Sussex are both on a short trip to South Africa, flying back on Sunday after the June 12 match against the USA team.
Dave Barrett, originally from Bristol but now living in Auckland, New Zealand, is in South Africa for three weeks while Yiannos Yiannakis, originally from London but also living in Auckland, will be travelling around for two and a half weeks.
Yiannakis and Barrett said they were looking for a good game and were convinced a win was on the cards.
"England victory I suppose, against USA, what do you reckon? Yes, England victory, convincing, through to the second round, early doors if possible. Win some money in Sun City, that's the plan. Win back our airfares , have a great time here. Enjoy it," they said.
Spells and Munro were looking for England to start a great run towards the final.
"Convincing performance, on their way to a really good World Cup run, hopefully 3-0, you know fantastic result yeah I think it will be good. Emphatic result, gain some confidence, have a good time. Good performance from everyone, sort out the goalkeeping question, sort out everything," they said.
Yiannakis and Barrett said they were looking forward to travelling around South Africa in search of adventure and other team games.
"It's a good amount of time to come away and appreciate the flavour of South Africa, watch a little bit of football," they said.
"But we are not just going to watch the England games, hopefully catch a few other games in the bars, have a few drinks.
