- Story Text: A former Russian envoy to the North Korean six-party talks warned on Monday (November 13) that if the multinational framework remains stalled, it will do more harm than good to the region's security.
"If the current state of the six-party talks is left as is, we'll be seeing the situation getting worse one or two years later than it is now. We'll be also seeing a higher risk of having conflicts in the region," Alexander Losyukov, who is now Russia's ambassador to Japan, said in a press conference in Tokyo.
The diplomat who represented Russian in the early rounds of the six-nation talks urged that the talks should be held more frequently to prevent the situation on the Korean peninsula from plunging into a crisis situation. He also added that that even if the talks are resumed, he doesn't think there will be a doesn't think there will be a "complete solution to the problem." - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
