- Story Text: Concert organisers in Tokyo go the extra mile to relax their stressed out audience with beds, blankets and ice cream. Too tired to go out to watch a concert? Not to worry, you can watch one in bed.
International ice-cream makers Haagen Dazs in Tokyo went all out to attract people to come to a concert they organised. They offered them lavish beds and unlimited ice cream to watch a classical concert in maximum comfort.
The two-day event is called the "Dolce Heavenly Concert". Russian violinist Anastasia Chenotareva played soothing tunes while the audience cuddled in luxurious beds, blankets and nibbled on ice cream.
There were only 50 people watching -- most of them really felt at home and fell asleep half way through the concert.
"We should relax when we listen to music," said 20-year-old Miyuki Echizen, who admitted sleeping deeply during most of the concert.
"I was very surprised when I saw these beds lined up. I think it is a very good idea," added 30-year-old Yukari Okada.
Though some of the audience only woke up when they heard applause, most of them said they felt relaxed.
"We tend to think people should sit up and listen somberly at a classical concert. We think it would be better if people can relax by lying on a bed and having tasty ice cream," said Izumi Kimura, a spokesperson of the organiser.
