- Story Text: A remarkable array of home-made cameras, many not looking like cameras at all, went on display in Tokyo on March 1, at the tenth annual home-made camera exhibition, the only one of its kind in the world. One camera looked like a telephone, while another could be worn as a pendant. Among the most unusual was a slide viewer made to look like a rice cake. Their inventors were there to demonstrate how their creations worked. A 'two-eyed' camera had the main advantage of taking very wide-angle pictures, or panoramas. One enthusiast had gone a step further, building what he called a 'ten-eyed' camera, very useful for taking fast-moving action, as staggered shutter openings facilitate quick-sequence photography. For would-be spies, the tiny camera, worn as a pendant, could rest easily in the palm of the hand. And for the joker, keen on surprising guests at a dinner-party, a slide viewer concealed in a box looking like a cake.
