- Story Text: Exactly two months after Japan's massive March earthquake and tsunami, Triumph International Japan unveiled on Wednesday (May 11) their newest lingerie featuring messages of support sent from overseas.
The lingerie is sewn with a patchwork of notes from 36 different countries received in the aftermath of the earthquake, tsunami and nuclear crisis.
"In the wake of the March 11 disaster, we received messages of support from various Triumph companies worldwide in addition to relief supplies they sent. We decided to make this lingerie to deliver those thoughts to the people affected by the disaster," said Triumph Marketing Division's Yoshiko Masuda.
The lingerie set consists of a corset-bra top and a skirt with appliqué hand-written messages from around the world.
"I read each message myself, and I realised that everyone around the world is sending their support. So I decided that I need to do my best as well," said 20 year-old model Hikaru Kawai.
Nearly 26,000 people were killed or unaccounted for following the twin natural disasters which triggered the world's biggest nuclear crisis since Chernobyl in 1986. The damaged nuclear plant in Fukushima is still leaking radiation, and could take another six to nine months for it to be brought to a "cold shutdown". - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
