- Story Text: An underwater visit from Santa Claus kicked off the holiday season at an aquarium in Japan on Tuesday (November 27).
A scuba diver dressed as St. Nicholas delighted children in Tokyo, swimming with eagle rays, sharks and morays.
"Merry Christmas, everyone," said the diver wearing flippers and a snorkel over his white beard, as he gave exotic sea creatures an early present -- a snack of chopped fish and shrimps.
"The Santa was quite a swimmer," said nine-year-old Yui Fujiura, who was watching the display.
The show's highlight is swimming Santa holding a cardboard star surrounded by scores of tiny fish forming the shape of a Christmas tree.
"I want a toy from him," said one small boy.
The Sunshine Aquarium is home to more than 15,000 sea animals and around 2,000 visitors come to see the show on weekdays, an official said. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
