- Story Text: Members of South Korea's top boyband EXO said on Sunday (May 25) they were confused after a Chinese member of the group, Kris, filed a lawsuit against their management company, S.M. Entertainment, without any warning.
Seoul's Yonhap news agency reported on May 15 that Kris had filed a lawsuit with the Seoul Central District Court, demanding his contract with the company be annulled.
Kris also said that S.M. Entertainment, had not respected his opinions and health in deciding schedules for the group's performances in South Korea and China, Yonhap said.
"Above all, we were so confused. All of our members have gone through a hard time both physically and mentally just a week before the concert," said a member of EXO, Suho.
The lawsuit came eight days before the EXO's first solo concert which kicked off on Friday (May 23) and continues until Sunday in Seoul. Kris has not appeared in the concerts so far.
"Though, we are even more united than ever during this tough time and we are quite satisfied that the concerts so far have gone well," Suho added.
Some South Korean fans hoped they group could sort their issues out.
"I feel really sad about what happened to EXO while hoping this issue gets smoothly done soon. I hope all of 12 members can get along well as they used to," 17-year-old South Korean fan Park Seo-ha said.
Others were excited to get to the concert.
"It is so good to be at Exo's concert in Korea, and I am very excited since it is the last day of the concert," said 18-year-old South Korean fan Kim Bo-mi.
EXO will continue its concert in Beijing, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Tokyo, Singapore, Bangkok, Manila and Jakarta, its management company said.
EXO, debuted in 2012, is composed of 12 members, four of whom are Chinese and the rest, Korean.
Its first full-length album titled "XOXO (Kisses & Hugs)" and its repackaged version sold over one million copies in total last year, S.M. Entertainment said. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
