- Story Text: Italian and Palestinian musicians joined vocals and instruments in a Baroque concert inside the Nativity Church in the town of Bethlehem in the West Bank on Saturday (December 20).
The concert was held in the run-up for Christmas, as preparations were underway in the church revered by Christians as Jesus's birth place.
Italian musicians of "Cappella della Piets dei Turchini di Napoli", a Baroque orchestra from Naples, played classical pieces conducted by Maestro Antonio Florio.
The concert, titled "The concert for Life and Peace", was attended by Palestinian residents and foreign visitors.
"Our message tonight is a message of peace, love, understanding, hope, trust, honest to be in our country. It was important for me to perform this message," said Palestinian Soprano singer, Enas Massalha.
"I think peaceful, on all people, all people of the world and natural," said George, an Italian Musician.
The concert was initiated by the Italian Association for Life and Peace, and produced by the Museum of Italian Jewish Art in Jerusalem..
"The concert was very nice, the people, the place, the performance, the music are all nice. Even all the songs were not in arabic language but it was very emotional," Sawsan Shomali, member of Audience, said. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
