Hundreds of Palestinians marched the streets of the Dhiesheh refugee camp in the West Bank city of Bethlehem on Tuesday (January 29) during a funeral procession for a teenager killed during an Israeli raid into the city of Bethlehem.
Qais Afandi --17 years old-- was killed by Israeli troops during a raid into Bethlehem on Monday (January 28).
Afandi was shot in his stomach by Israeli soldiers who were surrounding a building in Bethlehem city during a search for militants.
An Israeli army spokeswoman said troops had initially used non-lethal riot dispersal means but resorted to live fire at the lower bodies of some demonstrators when they endangered the troops by throwing stones and large building blocks at them.
Another Palestinian, Ibrahim Abdel Qader --21 years old-- was wounded in his leg during the raid, Palestinian medical officials said.
