- Story Text: The President of Poland Bronislaw Komorowski met with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas on the second and last day of his visit to the region on Tuesday (November 5).
During a formal reception for Komorowski held at Bethlehem Church of Nativity, revered as the birthplace of Jesus, Abbas greeted him and said he updated him regarding the Israeli-Palestinian peace process.
"I've updated his highness of the obstacles that oppose the peace process including the Israeli settlements and all that is happening regarding parameter changes in East Jerusalem, the aggressive attacks of settlers and the attacks on holy places both for christians and muslims," Abbas said, as U.S Secretary of State John Kerry was expected to arrive at the region to promote peace talks between the sides.
Komorowski pointed out that Poland fully supports the EU-proposed solutions to the Middle East as well as the EU position in all matters important for this region.
"Poland also supports and wishes success to the American mission which aims at solving the problems of direct relationship between Israel and Palestine," Komorowski said.
On Monday (November 4), Komorowski met with Israeli prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Israeli President Shimon Peres in Jerusalem and visited Yad Vashem Holocaust Memorial Museum. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
