- Story Text: U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon arrived in Lima on Monday (December 2), ahead of the 15th General Conference of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (Unido) to be held from December 2-6.
The meeting - which focuses on the importance of industrial production and trade for inclusive and sustainable industrial development in the region - is expected to be attended by over 30 industry ministers from all over Latin America and the Caribbean.
Talks will focus on partnerships, green industry, job creation strategies, economic diversification and women's entrepreneurship.
According to local media, the five-day conference is expected to attract 1,000 delegates, including high-level global government officials, as well as members from the business community, UN organisations and academics.
