- Story Text: Israeli troops raided a West Bank village on Wednesday (October 12, 2005), arresting a Hamas member wanted for being involved in a suicide bombing attack in the southern city of Be'esheba last August, Israeli media reported.
An army spokesperson said the soldiers surrounded an empty house in the village of Dahariya, south of Hebron, suspected of being a militant hideout.
The man inside the house exchanged fire with the troops, but no casualties reported.
Witnesses said the soldiers took out of the house the militant's mother, who called on her son to give himself up.
An Israeli bulldozer began demolishing the house, and after a few hours the militant stepped outside, took off his clothes and was detained by the army.
Army sources added that the militant was carrying weapons and was later taken into custody for further investigation.
In addition, the army conducted several more arrests in the West Bank, including two other militants in Dahariya village, Fatah militant in a village near Qalqilya and another one in Nablus. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
