Chinese Communist Party Leader Hu Yaobang has criticised the Soviet Union for delaying the release of information about the Chernobyl nuclear disaster to neighbouring countries.Hu was speaking at the start of a five-day official visit to West Germany on June 12, on the second leg of a European tour taking in the UK, France and Italy as well as West Germany.Hu was greeted by West German Chancellor Helmut Kohl, and was welcomed with military honours, a privilege usually reserved for visiting heads of government and state.he welcomed Kohl's call for an international conference on nuclear reactor safety, and said China would attend such a meeting.Soviet officials have already said that they would send a delegation.Hu was due to hold talks with West German Foreign Minister Hans-Dietrich Gonscher and Economics Minister Martin Bangermann on June 13.The talks were expected to focus on prospects for increased economic co-operation between Bonn and Peking.Hu was also due to have further talks with Kohl.West Germany has flourishing trade ties with China, but Bonn wants to increase investment there and enter into more joint ventures, like West German car-maker Volkswagen's production project with a Chinese company in Shanghai.West Germany is China's most important trading partner in Wester Europe.with exports to China worth some 2.9 billion US dollars last year.
