- Story Text: The Reverend Ndabaningi Sithole arrived in Lusaka on Thursday (15 May) in the wake of his declaration that he will not return to his home country, Rhodesia, "until it is Zimbabwe.
Mr. Sithole, a leading figure in struggle for black majority rule in Rhodesia, is considering whether to settle in Zambia or Mozambique while he's in "exile".
At a news conference given on his arrival, Mr. Sithole discussed proposed sanctions on Rhodesia's trade routes. He said he doubted whether the move would bring down the present Rhodesian government.
In Lusaka, he's the guest of Zambia's President Kenneth Kaunda, who yesterday echoed the threats of Mr. Sithole that the Rhodesian Government of Ian Smith will be faced with an intensified armed struggle if it fails to peacefully hand over Rhodesia to black majority rule.
