- Story Text: Students from Australia and all parts of south and eastern Asia are attending an economic conference which opened yesterday (Friday) in Bangkok. They were welcomed by the Vice Minister of the state university of Thailand. Speakers paid tribute to the role recently played by Thai students in bringing down the military regime. The conference then settled down to discussing economic problems of the region. Ey next Tuesday, when the conference closes, the delegates will have considered the effect of foreign investment on national economies, aid for developing countries and cooperation between student organisations aimed at solving economic problems. Fifty-one foreign students have come from Australia, Cambodia, Hong Kong, Laos and Singapore.
