Venezuelan President, Nicolas Maduro, said on Friday (April 7) his country would not remain silent before the U.S. missile attacks on a Syrian air base, which he said had violated international law, as hundreds of protesters gathered outside the U.S. embassy in the capital of Bolivia.
Maduro said the U.S. had violated the procedures of the United Nations Security Council by not having consulted the body before ordering strikes in retaliation for what Washington says was Syrian government forces carrying out a poison gas attack in northern Syria this week that killed at least 70 people.
Meanwhile in Bolivia, hundreds gathered outside the U.S. Embassy in La Paz to protest against what demonstrators called the "imperial aggression" of the United States and to express their solidarity with the Syrian people. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
