- Story Text: Lithuania's Mazeikiu Nafta refinery, owned by Poland's PKN Orlen PKNA.WA, said on Monday (January 21) it was back at full capacity after finishing repairs on a fire damaged vacuum distillation unit.
The unit was hit by a blaze in October 2006.
Mazeikiu spokesman Jacek Komar said the repaired unit had been reinstalled, which would allow the refinery to process 10.3 million tonnes per year.
Mazeikiu, which had a full turnaround last autumn, is to invest some 300 million US dollars to modernise the refiner this year, including a new hydrocracking unit, he added.
Before the repair of the unit, throughput was down to just under 7 million tonnes. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
