- Story Text: British pop star Cheryl Cole certainly has the midas touch when it comes to her career.
From the phenomenally successful pop group Girls Aloud, her well-received solo debut album and as a much loved judge on British talent show 'X-Factor', it seems everything she touches, sparkles.
Appropriate then, is the glittering theme of her next move.
The 27 year old is working alongside Swiss luxury jewellery makers De Grisogono to design a capsule range of rings and on Wednesday (September 29) she launched the first piece at exclusive London restaurant 'Nobu'.
The ring is chunky, black and inscribed with the word 'Promise' after the singer's new solo single 'Promise This'.
Cole's name is engraved on the inside and it retails online for 770 British pounds (1,115 USD).
She attended the ring's unveiling alongside de Grisogono founder Fawaz Gruosi who told Reuters the ring is very simple and wearable 24 hours a day. He sang Cole's praises both personally and professionally.
"She is someone who has extremely good taste and we became friends and I'm extremely happy to do what we're doing tonight."
Also at the launch were Cheryl Cole's Girls Aloud bandmates Nicola Roberts and Kimberley Walsh who told Reuters Television they were proud of their friend.
Cole's fellow judge on British talent show x-Factor Louis Walsh told Reuters nothing surprises him when it comes to her career.
"You know she loves jewellery, she loves fashion, she loves music, she loves dancing... This is what she was born to do and she loves it, you know, best of luck to her."
Cole has been spotted wearing De Grisogono jewellery in the past and performed at a party for the company during the Cannes Film festival this year. Her fee was rumoured to be 250,000 British pounds.
She's also releasing her autobiography in the UK on Thursday (September 30).
Called 'Through My Eyes', the book reportedly does not mention her former husband, footballer Ashley Cole, or her recent brush with malaria which saw her gravely ill in hospital.
It does however mention two other men in her life. Will.i.am, who produced her debut album ,is apparently "passionate to the core". And she calls rumoured love interest, dancer Derek Hough, a "sweetheart" and "the best". - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
