Story Text: Germany's largest airport, Frankfurt closed on Friday (April 16) as a result of a huge ash cloud from an Icelandic volcano that is over northern Europe.
Twelve of Germany's international airports have been closed including Frankfurt, Cologne/Bonn, Duesseldorf, Berlin and Hamburg.
On a normal day some 1400 planes take off and land from Frankfurt.
