- Story Text: South African President Jacob Zuma was on Tuesday (May 25) in Algiers where he was welcomed in the presidential palace by his Algerian counterpart Abdelaziz Bouteflika.
The two heads of state inspected the guard of honour and held discussions as part of a two-day visit intended to boost commerce between the two countries.
After the meeting, Zuma told reporters what was agreed with Bouteflika to extend cooperation to solve conflicts in the continent with the help of the African Union.
"The need to work a bit harder for unity and to address the question of some pockets of conflict in the continent that we need to do more. We need to concentrate in economic cooperation by other countries and regions, that even the AU (African Union) must look at this agenda in a fresh manner," Zuma said. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
