- Story Text: Ukraine's Minister of Interior Yury Lutsenko travelled to Kosovo on Wednesday (March 19) to visit the wounded policemen that serve in the Ukraine's police contingent with the United Nations in Kosovo.
He attended a ceremony to pay tribute to one Ukrainian police officer died of injuries sustained in violent clashes with Serbs in north Mitrovica on Monday (March 17). The clashes were the worst since Kosovo's ethnic Albanian majority declared independence last month.
NATO and UN troops came under fire during Serb riots in the ethnically divided town of Mitrovica, after evicting Serbs who occupied the UN court.
This is the worst violence in the territory since the Albanian majority declared independence last month.
