- Story Text: Delegates been arriving in Algiers from all over the world for the opening of the fourth summit conference of the non-aligned nations.
President Boumedienne was at Algiers Airport to welcome many of Monday's (3 September) arrivals who included leaders from South Yemen, Mali, the Ivory Coast, and the Provisional Revolutionary Government of Vietnam.
The Heads of State will meet on Wednesday (5 September), but the Foreign Ministers have already been in session, and have discussed several issues.
SYNOPSIS: The Algerian Government has literally put out the flags to welcome delegates from over seventy countries who are arriving in the country for the fourth non-aligned nations summit conference, which began last Monday.
Algerian President Hourari Boumedienne spent most of last Monday out at the airport welcoming arriving delegates including Madam Binh and her delegation from Vietnam. Madam Binh's delegation is not the only Asian group attending the summit not yet in power. Prince Norodom Sihanouk's Cambodian Government-in-exile, based in Peking, is also represented in Algeria. The Prince himself has already arrived.
Although the Heads of State may still be arriving, in preparation for Wednesday's Heads of State meeting, the Foreign Ministers have already been busy in session. On Monday, they selected seven new members to their growing conference.
Among the leaders to arrive on Monday were President Houphet-Boigny of the Ivory Coast, President Troare of Mali, both welcomed by President Boumedienne. During their stay in Algeria, the Heads of ??? will be staying in luxury villas a few miles outside Algiers. The villas have been specially prepared for their visit.
