- Story Text: Ceylon gave a warm, colourful reception to Polish Prime Minister Josef Cyrankiewicz when he arrived in Colombo on a four-day state visit, Sept 27.
An Indian airlines plane brought the Polish Prime Minister, his wife Madame Nina Cyrankiewicz and a party of fourteen from India after a four-day visit there.
They were received at Colombo's Ratmalana Airport by Ceylonese Prime Minister Mrs. Sirima Bandaranaike and introduced to her cabinet colleagues.
Main roads were decorated for the state drive from the airport to the Queen's house where the guests were staying.
Mr. Cyrankiewicz was fulfilling an invitation by the late Prime Minister Mr. Solomon Bandaranaike and renewed by the present Government headed by the late Premier's widow. During his visit, the Polish Prime Minister laid a wreath at the grave of the late Prime Minister Mr. Bandaranaike.
