- Story Text: There were no great surprises in the autumn collection of Nina Ricci - launched in Paris on Tuesday (20 July). As usual the designs carried the stamp of elegance - the stamp that has kept the Ricci fashion house among the world's leading haute couture designers for many years.
SYNOPSIS: Diana, wearing an unusual short coat made from fine swansdown dyed a brilliant turquoise and worn over an ever elegant black frock. Ideal for cocktail time or any special occasion the dress is made from crepe georgette and styled in a functional free flowing wrap around design.
For more formal evening wear - Jade, showing an exquisite full length gown. Once again made from crepe georgette - this time in pale green. Teamed with a large matching shawl the gown featured narrow shoulder straps while the filmy skirts overlap each other in the tiered style that seems to dominate most of the autumn's collection.
This time Attalie - in a warm fuschia pink gown of crepe georgette. Once again Ricci uses narrow shoulder straps then highlights the high empire bustline with a profusion of ostrich feathers. The gown has a slightly oriental flavour - a flowing skirt over filmy pantaloons.
