As I always git emotional with Brazil's national anthem every time I stepped on the pitch to defend Brazil, today I got emotional with Japan's national anthem. So, I think that's the biggest challenge -- to let emotions take over. But it happened before with other Brazilians who managed other nationalteams against the Brazil and I am not the first and I will not be the last. I think no doubt it would be a differenty feeling." 8. JOURNALISTS 9. GREEK NATIONAL TRAINER OTTO REHHAGEL AT THE PODIUM 10. JOURNALIST 11. Ronaldinho alone is one of the worlds best players, watching him play, how he moves, how light-footed he his, what an artistic game he plays, it will be a great pleasure." 12. - Story Text: Draw held for the 2005 Confederations Cup.
World champions Brazil will face European champions
Greece in the group stage of the 2005 FIFA Confederations
Cup while hosts Germany meet Argentina.
The draw on Monday (November 1) at the Alte Oper opera
in Frankfurt, places world champions Brazil, who won the
Confederations Cup in 1997, in Group B with Japan, Mexico
and Greece while Germany are joined in Group A by Tunisia
and Australia plus Argentina.
The German organisers of the tournament starting on
June 15 are hoping it will be a test run for the 2006 World
Cup finals.
Germany coach Juergen Klinsmann, whose side meet
Australia on the first day of the two-week tournament a
year before the World Cup, said he was looking forward to
competitive matches for his team, otherwise limited to
friendlies ahead of 2006.
"We are looking forward to the Confederations Cup
beause its like a sort of trial for the World Cup, because
it gives us the opportunity to play against possible top contenders, and so it is exciting to see how it develops
and what conclusions we can take from it. So we are
obviously hoping to stay in the competition until the end,"
Klinsmann said.
France won the past two tournaments, retaining their
crown in 2003 by beating Cameroon in the final at the Stade
de France.
World champions Brazil, who won the Confederations Cup
in 1997, would faced Japan coached by
Brazilian veteran striker Zico, who would hoping to hold
his emotions when he meets his home country.
"I think the most worst moment is when the national
anthems are played. As I always got emotional
with Brazil's national anthem every time I stepped on the
pitch to defend Brazil, today I get emotional with Japan's
national anthem. So, I think that's the biggest challenge
-- (not) to let emotions take over. But it happened before
with other Brazilians who managed other national teams
against the Brazil and I am not the first and I will not be
the last. I think no doubt it would be a different
feeling."
German coach Otto Rehhagel, who led Greece to the Euro
2004 title, beating hosts Portugal in the final, said he
was delighted to be facing the team which is always the
benchmark for other football nations.
"The Brazilians were always the ones to measure up
against in football, and therefore one is always happy to
play against them. Ronaldinho alone is one of the world's
best players, watching him play, how he moves, how
light-footed he his, what an artistic game he plays, it
will be a great pleasure."
The Confederations Cup final is set for June 29 in
Frankfurt and other venues are Hanover, Cologne, Leipzig
and Nuremberg.
