Obviously (at the start) we've improved from the last game against New Zealand. We started very well bowling wise, in the first 10 or 12 overs and again we let it slip in the middle and towards the end (of the Pakistan innings). And when we batted...we started off brilliantly against this good pace attack and again in the middle order we fell away badly and towards the end of it." So, I have to go back to the drawing board and again make sure I try to get the guys up for the next game coming up against Sri Lanka, which is going to be tough" PAKISTAN CAPTAIN SHAHID AFRIDI SITTING DOWN FOR NEWS CONFERENCE. 6 (SOUNDBITE) (English) PAKISTAN CAPTAIN SHAHID AFRIDI SAYING: "(The) Sri Lanka game - it will be a good game. - Story Text: Kenya must be much more consistent in every aspect of the game if they are to be competitive, coach Eldine Baptiste stressed after his team suffered its second straight heavy defeat at the Cricket World Cup on Wednesday (February 23).
Pakistan made a winning start to their campaign in Hambantota, recording a 205 run victory after amassing 317 batting first.
Kenya were rolled for just 112 in reply, just five days after being bowled out by New Zealand for 69 on the way to being thrashed by ten wickets.
"We started very well bowling wise, in the first 10 or 12 overs and again we let it slip in the middle and towards the end (of the Pakistan innings)," Baptiste told reporters.
"And when we batted...we started off brilliantly against this good pace attack and again in the middle order we fell away badly and towards the end of it."
Baptiste added while it was disappointing, his team had shown improvement from the New Zealand match.
"It is about being consistent with what we are doing and at the moment we are not just doing that," he said.
"So, I have to go back to the drawing board and again make sure I try to get the guys up for the next game coming up against Sri Lanka, which is going to be tough."
Pakistan's next match is against one of the tournament favourites in Sri Lanka in Colombo on Saturday (February 26).
Captain Shahid Afridi told reporters his team's opening win was perfect preparation for such an encounter.
"(The) Sri Lanka game - it will be a good game," he said.
"We bowled well, we batted well (against Kenya) and we will go with very positive and good body language in Colombo in the next game.
"We know how important the next game is and I think Sri Lanka is the best team, especially in their own conditions.
"I think the way we played this game, definitely we will go with the same strength and we will try to deliver as best as we can." - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
