It's as long as it takes to make a fiction film, you know, there's no difference, it's no easier. But it's been a great feeling, it's a great feeling." PHOTOGRAPHERS WITH RED CARPET

- Story Text: Newly-crowned BAFTA winners Jean Dujardin and Meryl Streep celebrate their triumph at post ceremony bash in London on Sunday (February 12).
Dujardin, who went away with the BAFTA Best Actor trophy for his role of silent movie star George Valentine in "The Artist" said he still felt a little overwhelmed.
"Thank you to BAFTA, thank you I'm shocked, it's an honour, really it's an honour. Ah, it was already and amazing nominate with George Clooney, Brad Pitt and the win is unbelievable."
Dujardin emerged as the winner in what proved to be a competitive category of leading actors, which included George Clooney ("The Descendants"), Brad Pitt ("Moneyball"), Gary Oldman ("Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy") and Michael Fassbender ("Shame").
Overall, the silent film proved to be the biggest winner of the night, garnering a total of seven awards, which included Best Film and also Best Director for Michel Hazanavicius.
For the filmmaker the win is a testament to the whole team which helped make the movie.
"It's great, and that's really naturally touching. I'm very proud of, and I'm very proud that everybody got recognition and that the film was celebrated, so it's really a collective thing and even if it's best director or best actor that doesn't mean really nothing. What's important is they love the movie and we made the movie all together and so I think that means just best crew. That's what I mean," he said.
Meryl Streep walked away with the Best Actress gong for her performance as British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher in "The Iron Lady" earlier in the evening. She is now the favourite to win the same title at the Academy Awards due to be held in Los Angeles on February 26. It is the second BAFTA for the American, who also won a Best Actress gong for "The French Lieutenant's Woman" in 1981.
Other winners that evening included director Asif Kapadia, whose film "Senna" won Best Documentary and the Editing prize.
"To win best documentary, the first year that I have had a documentary award, so we're very, very honoured to be the crew to win the first one. But also to break out of that category to win and best editing is amazing. That's the unreal one actually to be the best edited," he said.
For Kapadia it is a triumphant ending to a long project.
"The producer started on the film in 2004 so they've been on it for seven or eight years -- and I've been on it for about five years, so it's been a long slog. It's as long as it takes to make a fiction film, you know, there's no difference, it's no easier. But it's been a great feeling, it's a great feeling," he said.
