- Story Text: Britain retained the European team water ski-ing championship for the second year running at the European, African and Medite???nean Water Ski-ing Championships in Milan, Italy, on Sunday (19 September). Britain's Michael Hazlewood collected 10 gold medals to become the youngest holder of the individual European title.
SYNOPSIS: Fa??izio Granalli of Italy in the men's tricks event. He could only manage fifth place in this section.
Hazlewood of Britain fared much better in the event, taking second place behind Stend Frantisek of Czechoslovakia. Hazlewood gave consistently fine performances in all events.
Follow Briton John Battledy was third. Fourth was Michael de Telder of Belgium.
In the women's jumps, Cantal ???cot of france came second with some fine ski-ing.
First was Karen Morse of Britain. Third was Elisabeth Brajowski of Denmark.
In the men's slalom, Eric Cornhill of South Africa was placed way down the field. First was Italian Roby ???. Hazlewood came second with Telder of Belgium third.
Australian Franz Oberleinter couldn't do well either in the slalom. This performance shored poorly.
Gattleday took second place ??? Britain in the men's jumps.
Israeli Mose Ganzi took fourth place behind Australian Franz Oberaleinter.
Hazlewood took the honours for Britain in the men's jump with first place.
Hazlewood did face some tough competition in the championships. Frantisek of Czechoslovakia-- seen here in the men's tricks -- outclassed him in that event. However, the Briton's overall performance was such to place him well ahead.
